Kumba City and Local Councils stakeholders in Meme and Manyu Divisions have been called to take up the responsibility of providing a positive image of their institutions by providing satisfactory services to citizens. The call was made by the Public Independent Conciliator Mme Telelen Dorothy Atabong spouse Motaze during a concertation and sensitization seminar held in Kumba on February 23 2023.

Organized on theme “Concerting with Some Stakeholders of City and Local Councils on How Best to Meet the Aspirations of Service Users”, the seminar brought together some 70 Service and Bureau Heads of Councils of the Meme and Manyu Divisions.
The goal by the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator (OPIC) was to create awareness in these frontline actors in charge of the functioning of Council services to provide good and quality services to user in their local collectivities, considered to be part of their positive contribution in ensuring that .

These Service and Bureau Heads of Councils it is believed, are the immediate stakeholders responsible in establishing a suitable environment for achieving the missions of the council regarding the establishment of a positive relationship with citizens or users.

During deliberations, apart from being schooled on the missions of the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator and its complaint making procedures, the service and bureau heads were also presented some areas of their functioning that can be sources of contention and misunderstanding with users of council services. The purpose of bringing these areas to the limelight, the resource person Mr. Fonju Bernard explained was to make sure that being aware of such areas, the council stakeholders can deliver services in ways that will reduce discontent, feeling of bitterness and the risk of violent behaviour from service users.
At the end of the seminar, the council stakeholders were invited to be ambassadors of OPIC in their various local collectivities.
