The Public Independent Conciliator, Mme Telelen Dorothy Motaze delivering her opening statement
Community Liaison Officers of the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator have presented their second semester reports. The reports, which inform on sensitization activities carried by the liaison officer in their various subdivisions, also present the state of relation between each local council and their population. The liaison officers who serve as intermediaries between OPIC and the population of the 31 municipal councils laid emphasis on the provision of routine council services and the execution of development projects.

During the presentation of the reports on Thursday, 28 November 2024, challenges such as the constant request from Council users to pay a fee for the issuance of birth certificates, poor management of waste, lack of potable water, exorbitant fee for market stores and the execution of some public investment projects carried out by some municipalities were identified not to correspond with reality.
