The Public Independent Conciliator of the South-West Region, Mme Telelen Dorothy Motaze has urged the Mbonge Council and its community stakeholders to improve service delivery. She made the call in Mbonge during a town-hall meeting organized by the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator on Thursday, April 03 2025. Organized on the theme “Office of the Public Independent Conciliator: Engaging with the Mbonge Council and its Population to Enhance Effective Services Delivery”, the purpose of the meeting was to enable the Mbonge council and community stakeholders chat ways of improving service delivery.

Speaking during the opening ceremony, the Public Independent Conciliator, Mme Telelen Dorothy Motaze, noted that the purpose of the meeting was to foster better governance and service delivery. The Lord Mayor of Mbonge on his part described the holding of the meeting as a commitment by the Public Independent Conciliator to resolve conflicts.

While the meeting was an opportunity for participants to be educated on the missions of the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator, they were also drilled on their rights and obligations as users of council services. In the light of their rights and obligations, participants asked questions about a wide range of issues concerning the well-being of the municipality. The Mayor of the Mbonge Council on his part provided answers to some of the issues raised. Those that were not within his competence was addressed by the Divisional officer for Mbonge subdivision.

At the end of the meeting, the Public Independent Conciliator called on the participants to relay the information shared during the townhall meeting to their peers and also collaborate with the administrative and local authorities for sustainable growth and peace in the municipality.
