OPIC- South-West Youth League Explore Partnership Avenues

The Public Independent Conciliator Mme Telelen Dorothy Atabong spouse Motaze and the South West Youth League (SOWEYOL) on Monday 7th November 2022  held a partnership meeting in the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator. The meeting which is an upshot of the maiden concertation seminar OPIC had with youth leaders and associations of the regions on October 26 2022 was an opportunity to chat possibilities of a partnership between both parties.

During the meeting the President General of SOWEYOL, Esua Kisito accompanied by members of his bureau while reacting to the warm words of welcome from the Public Independent Conciliator, appreciated the Office for organizing the concertation seminar.

Commending Mme the Public Independent Conciliator for this initiative, he stated ‘‘this is the first time we have had such a thing in the region. A lot of people were in the dark concerning the Office and its missions. Though half of the youths who attended the seminar were intellectuals, very little knew about this institution. Our association learnt a lot during the Seminar.’’ While he congratulated Mme the PIC, the President General of SOWEYOL suggested that the initiative should be taken to other towns of the Region. He also proposed that Mme the PIC participate on a program of a major media organ that has a wide audience in the region to create more awareness.

As regards possibilities of partnership the President General informed the Public Independent Conciliator of his association representation at the divisional level. He said the association has divisional delegates available to accompany the office in the six divisions. While reiterating the support  of his association to OPIC, the president said they are available to accompany OPIC everywhere and at all times.

The Public Independent Conciliator reacting to this information, reiterated the Office wish to work in partnership with the South-West Youth League. She stated that the association will be expected to do the ground work of assembling participants when the Office will engage sensitization activities at the level of the six divisions.

It is worth mentioning that the South-West Youth League (SOWEYOL) is the first-ever association created to rally youths in the South-West Region to work for prosperity, development, peace and secure of employment for youths.
