Examining and amicably settling disputes (misunderstandings) between users and Regional Assembly or City/Local Council Administrations .

PROTECTION OF HUMAN RIGHTS

Defending and protecting the rights of citizens in their interaction with the Regional Assembly or City/Local councils in the Region.

FIGHT AGAINST DISCRIMINATION

Taking necessary steps to fight against any form of direct or indirect discrimination against users of services in the Local Collectivities.

CITIZENS AND REGIONAL COUNCIL REPORT

Prepare an annual report on the state of relations between citizens (service users) and services of all the Local Collectivities.

WHO CAN BRING A COMPLAINT BEFORE THE PUBLIC INDEPENDENT CONCILIATOR?

Any service user who has gone to seek or needs a service either from the Regional Assembly or a City or Municipal Council but believes he/she has been treated unjustly or suffered discrimination.

  • Complainant Must not have taken the matter before any competent court of law.
  • Complainant Must have made an earlier appeal to the council concerned.

"Conflict resolution through preventive or pre-emptive measures."
