OPIC Strengthens staff’s Proficiency in Organizing Seminars, Writing Reports

The proficiency of OPIC staff in organizing workshops have been improved. This took place during a capacity building workshop held at the institution premises in Buea from the 4th to the 6th of October 2023.

For three days, accompanied with practical exercises, staff were drilled on modules such as how to write Terms of Reference Document for workshop and sensitization meetings, prepare PowerPoint Presentation and write a workshop report.

Speaking earlier while opening the workshop the Public Independent Conciliator Mme Telelen Dorothy Atabong said the aim of the workshop was to strengthen the staff’s capacity in organizing seminar and sensitization meetings so that they can improve service delivery when they out for field assignments. She added that it was important for the staff to update their skills in modern information sharing technics.

 

The chief facilitator of the workshop Folefack Vincent Anu from the Center for Promotion of Local Development (CEPLODEV) while commending the initiative described it as timely due to the newness of OPIC staff in a professional milieu. He added that it was necessary for OPIC staff to grasp key concepts that can improve their professional know-how.

At the end of the workshop Mme the PIC expressed her satisfaction with the way the training was conducted. “I think the training has gone the way we expected. I saw the rate of their exchange and the numerous assignments they carried out.

It is noteworthy that, the institution since inception has been empowering its staff to enable them sensitize the public on its missions and render quality services to its users. This action is  in pursuit of the institution’s commitment to uphold its core value of diligently serving the public.
